We're bringing you a miro-episode of the CarrotCast just in time for the new year. I've talked a lot over the past few years about the power of visualizing your future and changing your habits to have more impact and become the person you want to be. This is something that I'm really passionate about and I'm convicted that if you want to make those changes in your life, it needs to happen today, not tomorrow, or on New Year's Day. I wanted to get personal in this episode and share with you a couple stories so that you can understand how this mindset has completely changed not only my life, but my wife's, my kid's, and even some of our members. Listen to this quick episode and then hit me up on Instagram. I want to hear how it impacts you. Also, don't forget to join me Dec 29th at 9:00 for my free annual EPIC planning call at Carrot.com/EPIC. I'm grateful to get to serve you and I'm super pumped about crushing 2019 with ya'll! See ya soon!

It’s been a really interesting year. This is the year that I've probably had to grow the most personally. As the team grows, you really start to look at yourself and go, "Man. The main bottleneck of growth in the company is you as the CEO." If you're not growing faster than the pace of the company, then you're gonna hold the company back. So, for me, there were spots where the company was growing fast and it could grow faster but the problem was I really needed to up-level the way that I lead. So in this episode, I'm going to recap my year for 2018 and some of the lessons, the key lessons, that I learned.
Full show notes at Carrotcast.com
03:00 - How you as a leader or CEO might be a bottleneck as your team grows.
04:59 - Invest in yourself: Hiring leadership coaches and finding mentors.

I’ve had the opportunity to see the impact this challenge has made on other’s lives as well as my own. Listen in, take the challenge, and let us know how it goes. Enjoy!

One thing I've learned through years of building our incredible team at Carrot is the goals we set have the ability to motivate, inspire, and push people towards their best efforts. But, they can also do just the opposite. Huge goals can wreck our happiness, contentment, and even our employees. The question isn't whether we can achieve those goals. But, it's about winning big and winning as a team. Hear how we set goals at Carrot, so you can have the freedom, flexibility, finances, and impact in your life.

This episode of the CarrotCast has been a long time in the making. Two of our most commented episodes have been about hiring an Executive Assistant.
So it's about time that we have, the World's BEST Executive Assistant, Jen Delamotte, on the CarrotCast.
Jen has been with Carrot from the start. Actually before the start!
On this episode, we're going to dive into Jen's journey with Carrot and Trevor as she went from 5 to 10 hours per week, hopping into blog posts and some marketing tasks that she really didn't enjoy to turning into a really amazing asset and person.
We're also going to explore her thoughts on what she's not liked, liked, and sometimes struggles with while managing the day-to-day, upper-level, work of a high-quickstart CEO like Trevor is.
Carrot wouldn't be where it is today without Jen!
So, enjoy this episode and pull out why it's so important to think about time and revenue within your businesses.

Hopefully, you're gearing up for the end of this year, and really starting next year with momentum. I've got a series coming up for you, over the next several months to help you plan for the next year, to really help you figure out what is on the horizon as a real estate investor, real estate agent, that I should be paying attention to.
On this episode of the CarrotCast. I dive in with my guest, Dan Schwartz to talk about automation, we're gonna be talking about how do you really gain freedom and flexibility and time-freedom from your business and with your business.
And really, how to leverage systems better to close more deals, because you need to refine your systems in 2019 to get that edge, to get that advantage. If you have leads slipping through the cracks, and you're not closing deals that you should be closing, you are going to be struggling in 2019. We want to help you crush it in 2019.
All right, so without further ado, I want to welcome on Dan Schwartz. He owns InvestorFuse. We probably have three, four, five hundred of our member using InvestorFuse as their CRM.
It's an amazing company, an amazing product. And they're actually coming out with a completely revamped version of it, but in this call, we talk about time-freedom, how to really gain time-freedom.
A little bit about how to build a team, and also, diving into systems and specific systems.
"Hey, what would you do on a follow-up to really gain an advantage in 2019? What would you do with your systems to gain time and really build that team so they'll actually to use the systems?"
All right, enjoy this conversation with Dan Schwartz and have an amazing day!

EP 127: Calling Their Way to $900k in Profits. How Max Maxwell and Tony Robinson Have Used Carrot and Calls to Their Advantage
One of our missions here at Carrot is to help you grow that freedom, grow that flexibility, increase those finances and finally make the impact that you want to make. That's really the entrepreneurial dream that we're all after, is getting that freedom, flexibility, finances, and impact.
One of the ways to do that is by what we call stacking your leads.
Stacking your leads means finding one thing that works and then stacking more things on top of that. It adds diversification. It makes it to where you can really scale better and go deeper into your market.
One of the ways that a lot of people are doing that is with cold calling.
Now, the cool thing about any kind of marketing, whether it's direct mail, cold calling, anything at all offline, radio and TV, is your website if you do it right, is actually going to help amplify all of that marketing.
Every single day whenever you're putting out that marketing, people are taking out their cellphone and they're going to the internet and they're going to research you. Your company name, the phone number on your direct mail pieces, or the phone number you're calling from, possibly your personal name and your competitors.
If you have a tight strategy and you're leveraging Carrot to rank well and then perform amazingly on mobile and convert those people into leads and build credibility, you're going to be winning more of those deals. Every single day there's tons and tons of deals are lost because people aren't focusing on the performance side of their online performance side of their offline marketing. People are dropping balls in leaky buckets everywhere when prospects are hitting the web, after seeing your online marketing ... Or after seeing your offline marketing or getting a cold call from you and you're not closing the deal on your website.
This call right here is about cold calling. Amazing, amazing clients of ours, Max Maxwell and Tony Robinson, they were at the CarrotCamp recently here in Roseburg, Oregon at Carrot HQ and they really showed how they're on their own journey to go over $100,000 a month. At that time at CarrotCamp, they were already at about $900,000 in wholesale profits, which is amazing!
The primary source for that is cold calling amplified by their Carrot website and a little bit of pay-per-click that they're doing. We said, "You know what, Max, Tony? Come into my office, let's talk about what you guys are doing in the cold calling. Let's go up a couple levels."
We're not going to get into the weeds in this call, but we're talking about what these guys are doing to pull out so many deals in their market with cold calling. What processes and what tools they use. Also, who they're hiring and how to pay them.
They dive into it fully here and they also talk about a new tool that they released, which is really, really cool, that they have been using and their students have been using.
In addition to that, we actually brought Max onto a training program that we created this last year called the Market Leaders Reveal training program. It's a 10 week, 10 person training where we walk you through the top eight to 10 clients of ours, or just some top eight to 10 clients of ours who are crushing with different types of marketing where online amplifies all of it. One of those types that Max is using, once again, is cold calling.
He dove into that process in crazy great detail. At the end of this call, I'm going to give you a link that you can go to get that training, to invest in that training. You get access to everything that Max has, including the cold calling scripts and tools he uses and all that stuff to amplify what you learn in this particular episode.
Without further ado, I'm going to introduce Max Maxwell and Tony Robinson to talk about how they do cold calling, how they're pulling out so many deals in the market with cold calling, and I'm just insanely proud of these guys and to have them as a part of the Carrot community.
Learn from them, and I'll meet you on the other side of this podcast with the link where you can access our Market Leaders Reveal training.

This topic FIRES me up!
We're now about two years into the CarrotCast and we're so grateful of our audience and the impact that we've been able to provide.
This impact was touched on recently when I was talking with one of our Carrot members. There was a question during the conversation that hit me at my core...
The question of "when is enough, enough?"
We all have ambitions. We all have the drive for more. But, when does that get out of hand?
My initial goal when I first started out was to make $4k per month. But, over time, my aspirations, motivations, and standards changed.
Luckily, my path has taken me personally and Carrot on a journey to impact the lives of others.
But, there are those who what that next higher level while either losing their purpose or never having one in the first place. They get the "not good enough" disease. Whatever they have or do just isn't good enough anymore.
On this episode, I want to help cure that mindset. I want to help our audience get over the need for validation. It's time to switch that mindset to truly feel your work is making a positive difference in the lives of others.
If you're not waking up each day and feel excited and fired up to help not only your life but the lives of many, many people, then you're most likely in the enough is enough phase.
Listen in. Start enjoying and put to use the finances, freedom, and flexibility that you've worked so hard to achieve.

This topic has been on my mind lately. It’s how to go fast by slowing down.
Many times in our businesses it’s easy to miss the important things when we’re working fast and furious, but we’re actually getting behind on projections.
Instead, we need to place importance on what is going to move the needle and with clear objectives.
We need to slow down and create better strategies and plans that are going to pull the biggest levers in our business.
Where can you slow down to better serve your team or family?
Learn from what I’ve been going through the past six weeks. I’ve been going, going, going, but failed to slow down.
Slowing down will actually help you speed up when you have structure.
Enjoy and be sure to hit us up on Facebook, iTunes, YouTube, or even the Carrot blog and share your thoughts. We’d love to hear them!

EP 124: Max Maxwell + Tony Robinson Unplugged: The Struggles, Lessons, Failures, and Keys That Led to a Multi-million Dollar Real Estate Business w/ Trevor Mauch
What's up CarrotCast community. It is the end of a week right now as at the time I record this. I'm actually getting ready to head out to North Carolina and Tampa on Sunday for my last, last, last trips of the year for business.
It's been ... It's definitely been cramming a lot of stuff in this past month and a half, it's been all amazing stuff. Just meeting a lot of amazing people. I've talked about it in recent episodes of the CarrotCast and different masterminds and high level. I've been in boardrooms with two multi-billion dollar companies, their CEOs, different masterminds with just amazing, amazing people.
Speaking of North Carolina, the guests I've gotten today's episode of the CarrotCast, they were actually out here from their home in North Carolina. They were here at CarrotCamp and it's actually Max Maxwell and Tony Robinson. Max and Tony had been friends for ... Shoot for decades and are going way, way, way back.
Anyway, we had a chance to kind of, hole away at CarrotCamp in my office, I pulled them to the side and I said, guys, everybody knows Max's journey from the past two years. Everybody knows how he was broke and how he dove in and started tackling real estate investing and really nailed Cold Calling and really nailed PPC with Carrot and is doing great. Everyone knows that story.
But, one thing that hasn't been told is the backstory before that, what happened 10 years, 20 years prior. What happened with their relationship? How did they get to know each other? And how did they support each other through the ups, through the downs?
So we sat down for this candid interview going all the way back to when they were 12 years old and they met, and through the struggles, through a jail stint, through both of them going broke at times, but opposite times through Tony making millions and then losing it all and going to jail.
It's just crazy, crazy things during the story, but the cool thing I want you to guys to notice is what made these guys who they are today.
People see the success of the past two years as instant, just overnight success, but it wasn't. It was success decades in the making and I'm insanely proud to sit down with these guys, they're making an impact, so proud to call them a Carrot customer, Carrot member, Carrot client, and I'm just pumped to be able to see them again and see the impact they're going to make on more people.
So listen in to this candid conversation with myself, Max Maxwell and Tony Robinson, his business partner, as they discuss their journey and their path that led them to where they are today.

EP 122: 100+ Deals This Year Turning Other Peoples Leads Into Deals w/ Tang Nguyen and the “Odd Brothers"
About a year ago, we connected with a new member here at Carrot, and he's one of the most passionate, action-taking, just hustlers, that you'll find out there.
I was so impressed. He joined Carrot a week or two later. He was up here in Oregon at our Carrot HQ for the very first CarrotCamp, and it was just really, really amazing, and I was crazy impressed seeing what he had been doing in Dallas, Texas, as a solo operator, using some crazy, crazy, creative marketing.
You're going to be hearing about some of that marketing here on this call, but that's not the end story.
When I was down in Dallas a few months ago, I met him and his two business partners, and since the time I'd first met him, about a year ago, he formed a partnership with two other local investors.
Since then, they've really scaled up their business in a big way, and they've done it by carving out a niche to where they can close deals that most other investors in their market can't.
They have other investors sending them deals all the time that say, "Hey, we can't figure out how to make this a deal," and they make them deals.
There's one deal that he talks about on this podcast where the person was going through foreclosure. He was able to help save the house. They stayed in the house, and he gave them money, $20 grand or whatever it was, for her daughter's wedding, and not just that, they're going to end up making a really, really, really big payday at the end of this because they are creative with their deals.
That was the deal that everyone else looked at and said, "There's nothing here," and he turned it into a $30,000+ payday and helped the seller in a big way, and that seller's just eternally grateful.
I want to introduce you to Tang Nguyen and his business partners with The Odd Brothers, Fred and Eric. Two amazing dudes, as well, and listen to their story. Be inspired by how they saw collaboration, not competition, with other people in their market. See how they're being creative and thinking about deals in different ways.
When entering a tighter market, you need to be more creative with your deals. You need to find ways to collaborate with other investors, not be competing with them, and shift that mindset, you all.
This is a collaborative industry. When you look at your competition as competition and not as a collaboration, that's when it gets really, really hard. That's when you're out on an island by yourself.
They get emails and text messages every single day from local wholesalers and flippers who say, "Man, I've got this deal. I don't know how to structure it. Is this something you can handle?"
Introducing Tang Nguyen, Fred, and Eric from The Odd Brothers, and an amazing, amazing story. Dive in.

This CarrotCast episode is actually pretty darn unconventional. We've never done one like this before. You may hate it, you may love it, I'm not sure.
But the reason I'm saying this is we recorded a little bit of a side conversation, Friday this last week, during the week of CarrotCamp, with my team.
There were a couple of our guys from out of town, out of state, one of them from Delaware, one of them from Philly, and a few local guys.
We were just kind of chatting. One of our Carrot Camper attendees, Beau Hollis, crushing it, does well over a hundred deals a year, he brought an amazing, amazing bottle of whiskey you could only get in Kentucky where he lives. So we cracked the bottle open, we sipped a little bit of whiskey, and we chatted for a half an hour, kind of decompressing CarrotCamp week.
We talk about business culture, company culture, the perspective from some of these employees of Carrot, from these team members, their perspective of culture, and why they joined Carrot, and how they joined, and how you can do the same thing in your own business.
What we've done here at Carrot, while it is unique to our culture, like what we've built is uniquely Carrot culture, you can build your own culture as well, and take these cues, take these tips, take the conversations from our team members, and infuse them into how you build your culture, moving forward to.
Now, with that said, the audio is a little bit weird. We weren't planning on recording a podcast at that time but I pulled out my cell phone and I literally just pointed it towards people, so my voice is definitely a little bit louder.
If this is your first episode of Carrot Cast, this is not how all of them are. This is kind of a special fun one, but hopefully you get some great information, some great content as you're listening to this episode of the CarrotCast, a special one, behind the scenes conversation in our office, end of the week of CarrotCamp, talking about culture, hiring people, joy in your work, the whole shebang. Enjoy!

On this episode of the CarrotCast, I want to talk something I was discussing with a really high-level house flipping business CEO recently. Having the energy to make people feel better and thinking "who do I need to show up for today?" It's really easy to get lost in your metrics. It's really easy to get lost in your KPI's. It's really easy to get lost in your goals.
Everyone gets lost. It's part of being motivated. It's part of being an entrepreneur. We tend to stop thinking about what and who we need to show up for right now and bury ourselves in the achievements and sorrows of our work.
If this is you, listen to this episode and start changing your mindset. Start showing up for the people you love. Start showing up to make people happy. I hope this helps and starts making a difference in your life.

EP 115: Perfecting a Creative Real Estate Strategy to Beat the Current Market Environment w/ Joe McCall
Hey everybody! I've got a special guest with me today on this episode of the CarrotCast. I've known Joe McCall for years. Funny thing is, I didn't even realize it until after we recorded this, I'm going to see him four times in person in the next about 60 days at four different Masterminds. Kind of cool, and we have a chance to talk about a lot of cool stuff on here.
Joe also dives into his process on finding the best cash buyers out there.

What a crazy week! One of the worst but best. A fever, some poison oak, and a root canal forced me to take another look at my process and how I can serve the Carrot team better.
Recently I've found myself wrapped up in agendas and failing to draw the line to what I can "throw away", "hand off", and "what need to be involved in."
I've also been creating strategy systems so our team can understand what I'd like see happen without being so involved. Things that not only drain my energy, but also the team.
Most of all, I talk about flipping your risk profile and what that means to me. It can be difficult to take a risky leap from a job that is putting food on the table.
But, if you don't take a chance you're 100% guaranteed to you won't enjoy the benefits of being an entrepreneur.

EP 112: The Ceiling of Complexity, Sabbaticals, and Energy Work As THE Key To Break Through Your Current Growth Ceiling
Dan Sullivan, one of the top coaches for many entrepreneurs, defined the “Ceiling of Complexity” as, long story short, an overwhelming feeling of the company running you, rather than you running the company. It is a common challenge for quickly growing companies. Life and business just got a lot more complicated than it used to be.
You might find yourself stuck with a feeling of immense pressure. The challenges and demands of running a business tend to drain you of your personal bandwidth. So what do you do?
On this episode of the CarrotCast, we're going to discuss how to learn to manage and maintain growth. The best ways to manage the complexity of growing a business and how to replace that with simplicity.
Embrace the energy so that you are running your business or life instead of it running you.

It's human nature to love THINGS. Cars, watches, houses, boats. And, that's okay.
But on this episode of the CarrotCast I want to dive in a little deeper. How can entrepreneurs and leaders go from being successful to being significant?
We have to love the PROCESS not the thing. We need to avoid the need for validation and protection. Instead, we need to change the mindset around to loving the process.
The process of making a bigger impact on others lives. That's when we win. That's when we become SIGNIFICANT.
Every day think, "Who Do I Need To Show Up For?" That question separates ego and selfishness from compassion and love. The strong desire to really, really make a difference.
Listen to this episode as I walk through my visualization process and how I try to stay the course to make that bigger impact to change lives and generations.

I'm pumped about this podcast today. One thing that I love to do and also I hear this feedback from guys all the time in iTunes reviews and the reviews everywhere else and emails and Facebook messages I get from everybody, that they love case studies. You guys love case studies. You love to hear someone else's journey, their successes, their failures, the things that they went through, the trials, the tribulations and what got them to where they are.

EP 108: Why Marriage Shouldn’t Be Run Like a Business and Many More Vulnerable Discussions w/ Adrian Nez
Hey y'all, this is Trevor with Carrots coming at you with another episode of the CarrotCast, and I am actually on my parents' back porch right now in Klamath Falls, Oregon at nighttime. It's 9:42 p.m. One of things that's amazing about the Oregon summers is it takes forever to get dark here. I love it. It's not light, it's definitely nighttime, but it's definitely pretty ... I'm outside reading right now still. It's pretty crazy, so 9:42 p.m. I'm looking at Venus up in the sky, and I'm thinking about this episode that you're going to be listening to right now on how darn important it is in the whole scheme of things.
My good, good friend and obviously Carrot team member, Adrian Nez, actually spurred on this episode of the CarrotCast. We were on a team call about a week or two ago as of the time we recorded this, and he said, "You know what, Trevor, I've got a podcast idea that I really want to pitch you and I think it's important." We hopped on a call, and within 15 seconds, I'm telling him, "Dude, we are doing that because that's so important."
You're going to hear some massive, massive vulnerability from Adrian himself who's going through some big hard, emotional things in his life and his marriage right now.
You're going to hear from me with some of my struggles in my marriage and some of the struggles that I'm going through. It's not struggling with our marriage per se. It's struggling that, how do I make it better? How do I serve my wife? How do I serve my kids much better than I am right now and how do I make sure to put them ahead of certain other things?
This episode is really pulling back. We're not talking about lead generation. We're not going to talk about SEO. We're not going to talk about any of that kind of stuff. We're going to talk about the stuff that's insanely important. Those people that right now you possibly might be ignoring, you possibly might be not serving.
You possibly might be looking at people that you've never met before in a Facebook group, in a BiggerPockets group, somewhere online, or even a seller or a buyer out there. You possibly might be thinking of people you've never met before that are not in your family that you're probably never going to speak with or maybe speak with once or twice, and you're thinking how can I serve them, and you're not thinking how can I serve my wife?
How can I serve my husband, how can I serve my spouse? How can I serve my significant other?
So, we're going to dive into relationships in this call. It's an insanely important topic for us entrepreneurs because ambitious people have a hard time turning it off. Ambitious people have a hard time justifying and reconciling when we need to be present. When we need to turn it off, and also what the next actions are. We're going to get insanely vulnerable.
Adrian's going to bring you up to speed on his own marriage. They've been on and off again. I've been helping him to guide him through the journey just support him as a friend, and he's going to walk through what he's going through and I hope you guys respect it. I hope you guys take some cues from it. I know I did in a big way, and also hopefully you have some introspection on where is it that you need to adjust yourself.
Adrian and I both walked through some things that are working for us to have better relationships with our spouses. I can use some big time encouragement on my end as well as we talk about later in this podcast.
All right. So we love you guys. Enjoy this podcast. Please share with someone who may be working too hard, who may be working too many hours, who may not be focusing on their spouse as much as they should. Please take it to heart. Give us a rating and review on iTunes if any of this hits you at your core.

EP 107: The 3 KEY Pivots Brad Chandler Made To Go Nationwide, Ramp To 25+ Deals A Month, and Do More Of What He Loves
On this episode of the CarrotCast we welcome back Brad Chandler from Express Homebuyers.
Brad and I met about 3 years ago and he recently joined us for CarrotCast 2018 Spring Edition.
We dive into the 3 Key Pivots he has made to go nationwide, ramp up to 25+ deals per month and doing more of what he loves.
These weren't small moves. They required a switch in their model from heavier stress, fix and flip model, to the fairly chaos free wholesaling model they currently have.
Listen to some of the insights Brad has about both sides of the industry and why wholesaling is where they've found the sweet spot.

EP 106: Why You Need to Escape the Daily Grind Before You Regret Being an Entrepreneur w/ Trevor Mauch
There has been a lot of social media presence around grinding it out. Working 4 am to 8 pm. Glorifying the badge of honor or dishonor that I like to call the "Grind."
The grind is a mindset, not an activity that you should willingly try to sustain and promote.
If you're an entrepreneur and you're grinding all of the time, you're going to eventually break. Just like a cogwheel. If a cogwheel is constantly being overworked and under pressure, it's going to fail.
Instead, shift that thought to building a business based on hard work, people, and process.
On this episode of the CarrotCast, I'm going to talk about my personal grinding experiences and how you can escape before you regret it.

I was recently in Toronto at a Mastermind where one of the exercises was the 10-minute tactic, which is to come up with a framework and my 10-minute tactic was actually the winner. But, I had sorta a head start.
I've been using a similar framework within my quarterly tasks that I call the "energy audit".
This framework only takes about 15 minutes per quarter to fill out, but it has taken me from doing things that sucked 75% of my energy to the exact opposite. I now spend somewhere near 75 or 80% doing things that give me energy and happiness.
These are the tasks that are built around your unique abilities and build up your happiness and income.
I was recently a guest on a podcast called the Two-Brain Podcast with Chris Cooper. Chris is the go-to business mentor for gym owners and more specific, Cross-Fit.
On this episode, Chris and I discuss the "energy audit" and how to fully take advantage of frameworks that can have a major positive impact on your life and business.

On this episode of the CarrotCast, I'm going to talk about ambitions, happiness, and some lessons I've learned that can help you take a shortcut to happiness.
All the hard work, all the time and energy that goes into making money and achievement can leave you feeling unhappy and unfulfilled.
This is something a lot of high achieving entrepreneurs struggle with. They struggle with being content. And probably struggle with happiness on a daily basis.
Many of us fall into the "if/then" complex and that only becomes a life-draining cycle that is hard to break from.
Here is a simple hack to go STRAIGHT to increased happiness.
And, check out more CarrotCast episodes at carrotcast.com.

We just wrapped up CarrotCamp Spring 2018 and I'm still amped up. It was a few spectacular days and I really want to, again, thank those who took the time to join us!
On this CarrotCast I want to discuss a breakthrough that three of us at camp had during a lunch about passion and fun.
A lot of entrepreneurs struggle with this because business is the passion and fun. But that can drain your energy, leaving feelings of dissatisfaction.
If you're struggling to find passion and build a business around what motivates you, you need to take this simple concept and run with it.
Listen in, get that fire in your belly, and hit us up with your comments about passion and building a business that satisfies your mission in life.

CarrotCamp Spring 2018 was again unlike most events. It was an opportunity for campers to immerse themselves with the knowledge of some of the nations' largest home buyers. It wasn’t a workshop or seminar, nor was it a retreat.
This was a time to strategize as well as brainstorm with some high, high-level investors.
We also took the time to unwind while hiking to area waterfalls as well as a mountain biking excursion.
Camper then got the opportunity to work one-on-one with our team to get massive things done to uplevel marketing… all the while building relationships with other high-level real estate entrepreneurs that will hopefully last a lifetime.
Thank you Spring 2018 CarrotCampers!

I've had some unique opportunities to learn from some highly successful entrepreneurs over the past month. One of the common themes that I've noticed has been how they choose to interact with family, friends, and colleagues.
Entrepreneurs are naturally guilty to push go-go-go and more-more-more onto others. But those others might be happy with their current situation.
Learn how these leaders talk with people to inspire and motivate rather than push thoughts upon them.
It's actually changed my mindset and how I'm going to interact with people going forward.
Both powerful and simple. Enjoy!

EP 100: CarrotCast Episode 100! Recapping Some of the Most Invaluable Episodes to Make A Bigger Impact In Your Life And Business
This is our 100th CarrotCast!
In the beginning, I didn't even want to start a podcast. I thought it would be too difficult and daunting trying to provide consistently valuable content to my audience. I thought it would take more time than it's worth.
And yet, here we are. :slightly_smiling_face:
I'm glad I started because I would never have made it to episode 100 if I hadn't done episode 1 or 3 or 5 or 50. In other words, life is a journey, business is a journey, and podcasts are a journey. Whatever you've started or dream of starting, this episode is dedicated to you, as a reminder to start and stick with it until it's finished.
As they say, "Nothing ever finished that wasn't started" and "It ain't done til it's done."
So here's to the start of many things and the continuation of many more. Listen to find out what I've learned along my four-year journey at Carrot.
It's been a wild ride.
And seriously, thanks for listening. You make this CarrotCast podcast worth doing.

I'm driving in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona right now recording the intro for this podcast. I'm down here for 10 days with my family on vacation and I also fit in a day of work as well.
If you guys go back to the episode that I recorded that is called Planting Seeds, that's something that I'm always doing.
That's one of the biggest things I can attribute any success I've had is to planting seeds with people. You know I see a lot of opportunities, a lot of potential in someone or working with someone and even if I think it's completely out of reach for that person to work with me or for them to change what they're doing, or I just have no clue how we're going to work together but I know that there's a quality person that wants to. I plant seeds in a very specific way.
It's turned into business partnerships, it's turned into amazing things. Now we're nearing episode 100 and I'm crazy about that milestone. Of hitting 100 podcasts because when we launched the Carrot Cast, I didn't know what it was going to be. I didn't know if it was going to be, you know, 20 episodes, 25 episodes or if we were going to stop at 50, 100, 1000, I don't know. And I still don't know when and where this podcast is going to go specifically.
But what I do know is we're going to continue to deliver things that inspire you. Continue to do, deliver things to help you be a better entrepreneur. To help you get more freedom, flexibility, grow your finances so you can have more impact in this world. And, today's podcast episode is a recording actually from one of our clients, but also an amazing investor and agent Connor Steinbrook from his podcast.
I've been on Connor's podcast a couple times and the first time it was on the investing side of things and this time it was on the agent side of things. He's growing a really, really, really fast agency right now with EXP Reality and it's just amazing what he's doing in his business, it's amazing that so many of our other clients are doing on the agent side in addition to the investment side. So he interviews me about how agents can leverage Carrot, and how agents can leverage content on the web to grow their businesses better. So hopefully you pick up a couple tips here if you are an agent and you have your license.
We have some really cool case studies coming up with other clients that are crushing on the investor side of things as well as crushing on the agent side of things. So keep an eye out for those as. Have an amazing time listening to this episode if you are an agent!

If you go back to CarrotCast Episode 66, it was called My Struggles and Eight Success Lessons Learned, I talk about a book that I read that really changed my life during the early years, it's called The Go-Giver. And The Go-Giver was a parable. It's a book that really got my mind wrapped around how to actually go out there and live life the opposite way that most people do.
And if you guys have not got the book The Go-Giver, go get it. Go to Amazon, and go get it. Or, you can wait for this call and actually listen to the author of The Go-Giver, Bob Burg. I had such an amazing chance to interview him, one of my favorite books of all time, it's one of the simplest books ever but I've given away hundreds of copies of this book over the years to people because it's such a simple concept but it's so life-changing when you actually adopt it in your day-to-day.
We've adopted it fully here at Carrot as a business. We've always lead with giving, we've always lead with value. We've always really lead with, how do we make sure our clients and our market and your audience are the ones winning?
And when that happens, we'll build trust, we'll build so much value that will, in the end, win, also. So I'm really excited for you guys to listen to this episode of the CarrotCast with Go-Giver author Bob Burg.
He's going to be talking about their latest book, which is the Go-Giver Influencer. It's another parable, but talks about how in this cluttered market, how in this cluttered world, with all of these messages, with all of these opinions, with all of these people who disagree on this and disagree on that, how can you be an influencer in a good way?
He also gives away so many other amazing tips in this call.

EP 95: How to Stay Ahead of Current Real Estate Market Cycles to Build Financial Freedom w/ Ramon Gonzalez
On this episode of the CarrotCast, we're excited to have Ramon Gonzalez on the show.
Ramon is an amazing, successful investor. He's going to walk through his journey, he's going to walk through how he's gone through and really modeled the market cycles. You're going to see the clear path from the time that he started in real estate back in 2004 or five, on what he did during that phase. Then, what he did in seven and eight. He took two years off and then what he did the next cycle and then what he's doing right now and what you guys should start to look at too.
There are way too many real estate entrepreneurs that are in this current market cycle that are doing the wrong thing. They're either going to make you broke or you're missing the massive opportunity that there is right now to build wealth. A lot of people are active and doing bunches of things but they're doing the things that are not going to position them to build wealth. They're about six, 10, 12, 14 months behind the market cycle, are you one of those people?
Also, you're going to hear his inspiring journey. We're going to start to talk about mission, purpose, all those kinds of things, unique ability, really, really fun conversation with Ramon. If you can go, make sure you're subscribed to the CarrotCast, we publish these about two weeks before they ever hit the blog. Also, I'm going to throw this at you one time, right now, right now. I say it every single episode. I want this to go all the way to your psyche here, is this.

on this episode of this CarrotCast, I asked Geoff Woods from The ONE Thing Podcast and The ONE Thing Company to come on here.
We have some awesome breakthroughs on this call. Geoff goes into a section towards the end of this call where he starts asking me some questions that gets pretty personal.
Honestly, if you're watching the video version of this, my eyes started tearing up a little bit, and it hit me pretty good because I know those are things that I need to work on better.
From this call, I'm going to be going home, doing something Geoff asked me to do on this call and taking the picture and sending it to him to show that I followed through on what we had talked about.
You're going to be picking up lots of amazing nuggets on this podcast, some great resources, how to create power habits in your life, how to go out there and focus on the things that are important.
Also, you're gonna be hearing some amazingly powerful stories with Geoff and myself on how you can just live and be a better person, a better entrepreneur.
How you can actually spend the time that you have right now today on the things that actually matter. Because odds are, you're not.
So, without further ado, I'm gonna welcome on Geoff Woods from The ONE Thing Podcast, and when I talk about serendipity when I talk about things happening for a reason, we explain a short story in there, but I set the intention after listening to his podcast back in October.
I said, "Man if I could ever meet that guy and have him ask me these questions that would be amazing." Three weeks later we had no clue, but three weeks later I walk into an office in Boise, Idaho. The very first person I see and the very first nametag I see is Geoff Woods. Now, he lives in Austin, Texas. I had no clue he was going to be there and with this happenstance, we have built a relationship.
They're doing amazing things so also check out their podcast, The ONE Thing Podcast.
Also, go to the CarrotCast on iTunes and give us a rating and review. And, be sure to let us know how we're doing. We appreciated your feedback!

EP 92: After 20 Years Tyler Was Going To Give Up Real Estate Until He Made These 3 Changes w/ Tyler Ford
I'm crazy excited about today's guest. Let me introduce you to Tyler Ford because his story is exactly why we do what do here at Carrot.
People ask us why we do what we do. It's not for the lead generation side of things.
That's what we do.
That's how we help our clients crush it and grow predictable, consistent, profitable businesses. They finally have freedom, flexibility, finances, and can make an impact. That's why we do it. That's what we do.
Why we do it is exactly Tyler's story. He's gonna walk through how he was ... he's been in real estate for 20 years, and he was about to give up his entire business January of 2017, and he made one change that he's gonna be talking about on the episode of the CarrotCast that made 2018 the best start to his real estate career he's ever had, the happiest he's ever been in his business, and he's also growing and growing his businesses.
It's still just him and his wife flipping but he's growing his agent business and he's insanely happy. He's gaining momentum, and every one of us wants momentum.
As entrepreneurs, momentum is so, so important. When you don't have it, you can feel it. You're down, you're out, you're getting stressed, you're tired. You just don't feel like you're doing the right things. When you have it, nothing can go wrong and that's where Tyler is right now.
So, if you guys wanna know how he unlocked that momentum, and how he went from almost giving up his 20-year real estate business January of 2017 to now, completely shifted, happy, most profitable as ever, he's gonna tell you.
But first, he mentions a couple episodes of the CarrotCast in here that changed his life, and some of these things were some of those pivotal points for him that changed his mindset, that got him thinking in a different way.
So, key into those podcast episodes.
That one changed my life and Tyler mentioned it changed his life as well.
There are a couple other resources in there, too. I want you to go to oncarrot.com/Tyler, T-Y-L-E-R, and you're gonna be able to go to this episode if you're listening to it on iTunes or watching it on YouTube, and you're gonna be able to download Tyler's formula that he developed in conjunction with our formula during 2017 that helped him get that momentum.
So, this is basically a process of formula that you can follow if you're in a spot in your business to where you're not having as much fun as you wanna have or it's not as profitable as you wanna have it.
You might even be thinking about giving up, or you don't have the momentum. This formula Tyler walks through is exactly how you can get it.
Without further ado, let's welcome in Tyler Ford.

EP 91: The One Core Thing to Simplify Your Life, Be Happier, Make a Bigger Impact, and Grow Your Income
There is one core thing in my life that has lead to more happiness and more business success.
Something you probably already have heard. I heard it, but didn’t pay attention to it. Why?
A little bit of success can lead to more. Bigger distractions.
When your brain has to think about a large number of little things, it doesn’t allow you to open up to bigger things.
Sometimes it takes getting a reality and mortality check, to shake things up. Then, your work changes. Your life and family attitude changes. It starts to fire you up. You start to focus.
You start to declutter your thoughts, remove a large amount of time-wasting items and begin to focus on the big things.
Find out more about the “One” thing that I do every year to declutter myself and stay my path.
Happiness is simplicity. Use simplicity to your advantage.

Good morning, good evening, or good afternoon, whatever time you are listening to this episode of The CarrotCast, and I've got a special treat for you.
I was down in Dallas, Texas, had a Mastermind just recently, it was the Investor Fuel Mastermind with Mike Hambright and a bunch of other amazing people. About half the room was Carrot customers, actually. But these people were crushing it, and there were people doing 100, 150 deals a year. There were people that own 400, 500, 600, 700 rentals. There were people that own 1,000 doors on apartments. There were people that were doing some big, big stuff in business and life.
And what we did was we did an impromptu podcast with three of the Carrot customers after the Mastermind. We sat down around a table and literally put this cell phone in the middle of the table and the audio quality ended up way, way, way better than I thought it would. But we had a great conversation.
We'll introduce you to those three Carrot members here in a bit.
The cool thing about it is they all are completely different backgrounds. They all are focusing on different parts of real estate. They all do a lot of different marketing stuff.
Blake is actually in Chicago, and he's a non-techie, totally non-techie, 40 years old, closing a bunch of deals. In his past life, he was a turnkey guy, doing a bunch of turnkey stuff and he's pretty much strictly just getting down and dirty and learning the real estate lead-gen side of things. He did a bunch of wholesale deals. He'll talk about how he did it.
Jamie. Jamie's actually from Dallas, Texas, did 102 deals in her first full year as a real estate investor in one of the most competitive markets in the country, and she talks about how she's doing it. And she's really hitting things hard, and what her "why" is, because it's not what a lot of other people think. She's not in this to be in it for 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 years. She said, "I want to hit it hard for three or four years, really build a massive stockpile of cash and an asset, then stop and go hang out with family again." But she's doing massive things, $50,000 a month in marketing. She didn't start there, though. She walks up through how she did it.
And then we have Rashad out of California, young guy, 25 years old. And he's crushing it, doing bunches of deals, did almost a half a million dollars in gross revenue in 2017, and he talks through how he did it.
But we talk about a lot of life stuff, too, so I think you're gonna really enjoy this. One thing I want to toss at you is this: Every single week, I host a webinar. Just go to OnCarrot.com/webinar.
And this webinar actually is gonna dive into exactly how these market leaders are doing what they're doing. It's called the Market Leaders Revealed Training.
This Market Leaders Revealed call is gonna dive through the data, it's gonna go into exactly what the big people in each market ... even people who are just like the ones in this podcast you're gonna listen to ... what they're doing to get most of their leads and deals in this market.
Without further adieu, we're gonna dive into this episode of the CarrotCast.

This week was a pretty darn important week at Carrot. We launched a new feature, had some deep conversations with the team, and it really made me dive deeper into our business and we can help real estate entrepreneurs really take their businesses to the next level.
I’ve talked about my 3 F’s in business. Carrot has been build to create freedom, provided financial stability, and allowed flexibility. As we’ve grown, some questions have started to pop up …
What happens when the 3 F’s have been achieved and are stable? What is the next step? How do we stay hungry?
The Answer: You need Purpose.
I mentioned a new resource that we rolled out this week. Our clients now have the option of free SSL on their websites. This new resource makes a HUGE impact on how our members can do business. It was created with a purpose.
This purpose ties into our mission, “Add humanity to business and help people regain time for the things that matter.” Members can now spend more time on the things that give them passion rather than having to work on something that doesn’t.
Listen to this episode and get into the mindset of opening up some of the closed doors that are holding you back from being the best real estate entrepreneur you can be. Enjoy!

Back in 2010, a few years before we launched Carrot, I had an idea and also I had a problem. The big problem I had was we live in rural Oregon, a small town of about 25,000 people called Roseburg. We loved the town. It's such an amazing town, but we couldn't find the people that we wanted to surround ourselves with. We couldn't find the group. We couldn't find the networking opportunities to find other people, especially young people who wanted to make things happen.
Myself and a friend, we launched what we called the Young Entrepreneurs Society. The Young Entrepreneurs Society has gone on to be the most active entrepreneur group in all of rural Oregon. There's Portland, Bend, and Eugene, which is pretty much those are the biggest three cities in Oregon, add in Salem, but our small town has one of the most active, vibrant entrepreneur communities in all of Oregon. Why did that happen? It happened because we were crazy intentional with recognizing the need and the importance of community, the need and the importance of surrounding ourselves with other people who are doing amazing things that can help lift us up instead of soloing away in our own offices or in our own buildings.
We've got to record it." What you're listening to today is an audio recording of that Pub Talk I did in January 2018 just updating people on my journey but also pointing out some of the important things I had to do as a human being, as an entrepreneur to really live a charged life, to really live a life that was going to unleash me into the world so I could make the biggest impact I wanted, so I could make the most income that I could, and then I could also be the happiest in business because I know so many people who are insanely rich bur are insanely unhappy, too.
Some of it won't be really directly connected with you a whole lot. In here when I talk about my Energy Audit Worksheet, which I give out to the live crowd here, you can get that for free as well. That Energy Audit Worksheet changed my life completely in three years by doing this 15 to 20-minute exercise every quarter.
Go to oncarrot.com/energy, oncarrot.com/energy, and you can download that same energy audit that literally I do every quarter that absolutely changed my life from being overworked, not really crazy fired up about the individual work that I was doing, no real passion or no real clear purpose in how I was going to go out there and tackle the world with my business, into the opposite of that.
Most of the work I do today is energy work. Most of the work I do today really amplifies the impact I want to make in the world. You can do it with that worksheet. I walk people through it in this talk.
There were actually three of our customers there, one of them here locally and two of them that are the largest real estate agents, the number one and number two agent in all of Minnesota five years in a row. They flew in for the week, and they're in the crowd as well. Have an amazing time.
Go to oncarrot.com/energy and grab that worksheet. Also, go to iTunes and give us a rating and review. If you enjoy the energy audit, if you enjoy this episode or have enjoyed any of them, help us get over 100 reviews. We're sitting right on the precipice of getting over 100 reviews.
Spend the four minutes. Please, please please, go over there. That's how we get this message in front of more people so we can help to change the way people do business. All right, I hope you enjoy the talk.

I've got a great, great guest on this episode of the CarrotCast. I've known Justin for years and years. He's actually at my last Mastermind in Sedona Arizona, so I wanted to bring him on to talk about how he's building his business, and what he's really shifted in a big way for 2018. What was working for him to wholesale and flip 100 plus houses last year, is not working for him going into this year quite so much, so he is going to be adjusting those in massive ways.
Justin has a great story. He is kind of one of those guys who came from being completely broke, and he talks about a pretty funny story of how he and his friend kind of skirted the car impound people by trading cars multiple states away for a period of time to keep their cars a little bit longer. Some funny, funny stuff, entrepreneur story stuff. He also digs into the mindset and how they scaled their business from doing a couple deals to over a hundred in a year. And they've done 700+ deals so far in their career. He'sbreak down breakdown what's working for them now versus what wasn't.
Let's dive into Justin Colby's story on how he went from being broke and struggling to scale his business working five hours a week in his business now, how he formed a great partnership, what to look for in partnerships. All kinds of amazing things!

EP 85: How Krista Sold 144 Homes Last Year in One of the Hottest Markets - Her Strategy and Story w/ Krista Mashore
I was Boise, Idaho, about three or four months back at a mastermind and met amazing, amazing people. Some people literally have businesses doing 50, 100 plus million a year. And people from different types of industries, a little of everything was in there. And there was this lady there that she and I connected, hit it off and said, "We need to hop on and do a podcast." And she's in the real estate market. She's the number one real estate agent in Brentwood, California and sold 144 homes last year.
She started like a lot of us start, where your back is against the wall and you really need to go out there and make something of yourself or create a business or create the income. She was the same way. She went through a really, really terrible divorce and some other things and she walks you through that time in her life and how she went on to them build this business.
And she also breaks down her marketing strategies. Exactly what she's doing to grow that business. It's very similar to the way we teach. It's using content and it's going after being consistent. But she does it in a very specific way. So we invited her on the podcast, under the CarrotCast, and she is a Carrot customer, by the way, an AgentCarrot customer as we're in BETA, with her and lots of other agents. We're really building out the AgentCarrot platform.
Just go to agentcarrot.com, to get on that. Or if you're listening to this one, AgentCarrot is rolled out, you can go to agentcarrot.com and join if you're a real estate agent. But we're going to break apart her story, the mindset tricks that she uses that work insanely well for her, to get her mindset orientated and also, what is her marketing mix, that does 150 plus houses a year, as Brentwood California's number one real estate agent. We're going to break all that down in this episode of the CarrotCast. And I think you're going to insanely, insanely enjoy it. All right, without further ado, welcome on Krista Mashore.

EP 83: How to Attract a Mentor You Want Without Killing Your Chances of Working with Them w/ Trevor Mauch
On this episode of the CarrotCast, I'm going to talk about attracting a mentor and how you can kill your chances of working with them in a matter of moments.
It doesn’t matter if you're a new entrepreneur. It doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced entrepreneur. You should always be mentoring someone as well as be a mentee.
That means you need the exchange of knowledge and the exchange of value and the exchange of real conversation on a consistent basis.
There is a right way and wrong way to go about getting a great mentor.
Your mindset from the start has to be on what you can do for them, not what they can do for you.
Ask more questions if you’re trying to find a mentor. What do they care about? What are their passions? Then, how can you provide value to what they care about?
Be curious about their story. Provide value and excitement to the person that you’re trying to gain knowledge from.
Please, please, please don’t waste time. Give value to them and show true interest in them. Stop selling you and your ideas.
